Why did you name your thread: "grounded grid pre amp question"?
A true grounded grid phono preamp would only work with moving coil cartridges. A grounded grid input has a very low input impedance compared to the moving magnet and variable reluctance cartridges (they need 47k Ohm loading).
Using a coupling cap will pass 'large' current from the cathode through the cap to the extremely fine wire moving coil . . . burn-out. It is generally impractical to use a grounded grid input for this kind of service. Very careful and special design is required. It not only requires protection circuit design for when the preamp is turned on and warms up, but also when it is powered down or when the power mains fail.
Do you Really want a true grounded grid phono preamp?
As to a line preamp, a true grounded grid input impedance is to low for most signal sources.

is held at ground and the grid is modulated.
With the grounded grid, the grid is held at
ground and the cathode is modulated, which is

phase at the plate is not inverted as it always
is for the grounded cathode. The problem here

impedance for the stage is very low, restricting
its applications. The solution is to buffer it with
another stage that has a high impedance input
and a low impedance output. The cathode
follower fits these requirements perfectly.
